February 9th: Southern Sectionals Competition

Sectionals Results:

On February 9th, a group of FBLA students traveled to Valencia High School in Southern California to compete at FBLA Southern Sectionals, a competition between 9th through 12th graders from high schools in southern California. Participants were given the options of taking academic tests, group tests and projects, and even speaking events. All exams were an hour long and tested the knowledge of students on varying subjects. Below are students who placed highly in each event. Lots of studying and preparation went into this recognition: a huge congratulations to everyone listed below!

Sections Award winners in no particular order:

Helen He, Rebecca Chen, & Leah Cole took 4th in Management Decision Making

Deniz Inel & Justin Lin secured 7th place in Marketing

Devin Lavacude-Cola took 5th in Business Communication and 8th in Introduction to Business Procedure

Kate Miller was 4th in Public Speaking

Daniel Min received 8th for Economics

Isaac Choi was 4th with his Sales Presentation

Olivia Kaneko was 10th in Health Care Administration

Brandon Wong & Arjun Tarsadia took 5th in Sports and Entertainment Management

Miriam Bridger & Ava Cooper were 7th in Hospitality Management

Sanjana Khurana took 3rd in Intro to Business Procedure and 10th in Introduction to Financial Math

Austin Pak was 9th in Introduction to Financial Math

In order to compete at the FBLA California State Competition from April 25-29, qualifications and certain places in each event had to be earned. The following four students, through dedication, team work, and preparation, qualified themselves to an automatic entry into the state competition.This is a huge accomplishment, and we wish them the best of luck as they prepare for the competition in Ontario!
